Pavel Rombakh: How to Become a General Contractor?

Pavel Rombakh says that the general contractor is an individual who is usually self-employed and manages the construction projects carefully while maintaining a contract with the developers. For becoming a general contractor, you must have a capability to choose the construction methods, appropriate materials and it is also your responsibility is to take care of the client budget as well. Doing staffing of employees and subcontractors will also be in your hands.


Below are the steps that are needed to become a general contractor includes:-

Earn a bachelor's degree

If you are planning to become a professional in this field, then you have to earn a bachelor's degree in the area of civil engineering and construction management.

 Gain hands-on experience

Pavel Rombakh owner further added that you must earn a hands-on experience in the field of construction for becoming an expert in this field and you will able to enhance your construction skill while working in the field.

 Get a license

For gaining more business, it is recommended to acquire a valid license. Though every state will conduct an exam for a general contractor, but the requirements for getting a license vary from state to state. Some states may not look at your bachelor's degree, but they focus on your experience. It is necessary to pass a written test on the topics related to contracting and construction law.

 Start your own business

Pavel Rombakh further recommended that a general contractor may want to run their own business. For doing this, they will need to manage a team of specialists like electricians, carpenters, plumbers, subcontractor and many more. For buying the basic construction tool, they also need to have adequate finances. Though they are not involved with construction work, but they must be familiar about various construction tools in order to have good management of workers.
